Welcome to our redesigned site! Thanks to everyone who has given us their valued input and assistance in developing DL25.com!

I'm Laurel, the creative director of Design Limits 25. I was born in the Wheat State of Kansas, the youngest of Bob and Virginia's three children.

My first introduction to design was when my older sister was dating an architect. He had a house very different from my own; it was a warehouse before people were doing warehouses, full of very modern furniture and I loved it.

I studied graphic design and fine arts and received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma.

What I love about being a designer is the diversity of this profession: designers are involved in the creation of cool projects like CD cover design, web design, or projects involving interior design for restaurants and retail. And it does not all have to be on a computer. In fact, the computer is really the last part of the design process.

It starts with vision, like the architect taking a raw warehouse and imagining a whole integrated living space. That is how I approach my projects. I often start with pen, ink, paint, and one time even pencil shavings, to develop a visual concept that conveys the core messages of my clients' brands.
